There’s no better place to go for inspiration or great ideas than the ORC® archives. Here are fifteen brilliant ideas for kids rooms and nurseries that we’ve spotted in past ORC® projects!

Wallpapering a focal wall to create a wow moment around the crib is always a great design choice for a nursery. Choosing a wallpaper you really love can give you a great starting point and can set the tone for the space.

Bringing wallpaper into the closet can make a usually boring area more fun, and making things more fun is always a plus in a kid’s space.

Katherine of Haus Matter put this great water ripple wallpaper on the ceiling of her nursery because babies spend lots of time looking up. Genius!

Kids tend to have a lot of stuff. Using shelves to display some of the visually cool stuff kills two birds with one stone by filling wall space and acting as storage!

Mudroom-style hooks should be way more common in kids rooms than they are. In this bedroom Steph designed for her niece, the hooks blend in beautifully with the beadboard, and importantly prevent the classic pile of stuff by the door.

Jennifer of Midwest Eclectic found this fabulous image in her son’s room on Unsplash for free. Since kids’ taste changes so much as they grow up, it doesn’t make a lot of sense to invest a bunch in original art for their room, and just a simple stock photo still brings so much charm and personality into the room.

The showstopper of this room is obviously the walls and ceiling, and all it took to create something so creative was time and paint (and some major skills with a paintbrush).

The very cool cloud design on this wall is more subtle and versatile, but every bit as creative and fun. Evelyne of House of Maybe drew the design by hand with a sharpie, which is absolutely mind-blowing. This is definitely a very cool option if you trust your drawing skills!

If your kid has more colorful, playful taste, you can really go all out on making their room a bright and fun space. These colorful walls are so great!

Wall decals are an incredibly easy and inexpensive way to do something creative on the walls without investing too much time and money into something a kid will inevitably want to change in a few years. These gold polka dots are SO cute and fun.

Christine’s daughter’s obsession with llamas was the inspiration for her Peruvian-themed bedroom. The pairing of bright, fun elements with more global/collected elements make this room clearly kid-friendly but still sophisticated.

This soccer-themed room is another fantastic example of using a theme subtly and creatively to make a space your kid will be excited about but still looks sophisticated.

Reem’s 13 year old daughter told her that a hanging chair was definitely a must-have in her bedroom makeover, and she definitely wasn’t wrong! What a fun spot to get some homework done.

You can really never have enough storage in a kids’ room, and these benches are a great way to add one more storage spot, plus a place to put on shoes, etc.

Chalkboard paint remains an old standard for kids’ spaces for a reason— it’s so fun to let kids be part of decorating their space by giving them a giant canvas.
