B&A: A Gorgeous Green Laundry Room Oasis

BEFORE & AFTER

For her spring 2024 ORC project, Tracey (@mochagirlplace) turned an uninspired laundry room into a gorgeous green space where working on laundry would put anyone in a fantastic mood. Her priorities for the room were adding personality and storage, and she more than succeeded.

Her “to keep” list included the washer, dryer, and the AMAZING table her husband made. All three were too heavy to move out of the space, so she removed everything else and got right to work. After she de-popcorned the ceiling and primed the walls, she officially had a blank slate.

She added wainscotting and painted the walls green, and she installed wallpaper on the ceiling with the help of her husband. The incredible wallpaper took the space to a whole new level. She chose the wallpaper first, and then picked a paint color that would compliment it and feel very cohesive. The addition of the wainscotting also gave the room some nice texture and balanced the ceiling.

Once all of the major elements of her design plan were in place, she got to work styling the room to perfection--no mochagirlplace room would be complete without plants.

One of the best details of the room is the table skirt, which she sewed herself. It was such a genius way to utilize the table and create lots of extra non-eyesore storage.

Tracey’s hard work more than paid off. What an incredible space!
