B&A: Gorgeous Stone Fireplace Makeover In This Warm Neutral Den
BEFORE & AFTER
VIA THISTLE HARVEST
This amazing den transformation is by Hannah of Thistle Harvest from the spring ‘20 ORC. The den started out with a great stone fireplace and gorgeous wood floors, but the room had no exterior windows.
In order to brighten up the space and make it feel more inviting, she had a big picture window added to the wall on the left, and she mortared and limewashed the fireplace. The lighter fireplace suits the bright and happy space so well, and the stone still brings in so much texture to the room.

These two photos make it very clear what a huge difference the new window makes. It hardly looks like the same space.
The new white sectional in front of the window is so pretty, and going with a light color for the sofa allows the light to pour into the room unobstructed.

That white oak media console table is such a gorgeous piece. The natural wood grain brings so much texture into the room, which is important in a space with a limited color palette.
She also was able to bring in some texture and warmth with the mantle shelf. All she had to do was sand the white paint off, and voila. Having the mantle be natural wood instead of painted white brings such a lovely touch of color to the fireplace wall.

What a difference the window makes! The finished room is sure to have all the minimalist warm-neutral enthusiasts drooling.

Although Tracy’s (@4009decorates) 11-year-old son’s bedroom was already fantastic, it had a kid-like, playful vibe that he had outgrown. Micah expressed his desire for a more grown-up room that reflected his current interests and personality, or, more specifically, hunting lodge themed decoration and "cool old stuff" (aka vintage finds).
