Adding custom accents always elevates a space, and this closet door DIY is no exception. The cane accent above was created by attaching grasscloth to a plain white picture frame and then adhering it to the door.
Give your front door a colorful makeover

A fun paint color on the front door can really bring the exterior of a house to life. Obviously a beginner DIY paint job won’t be perfect, but with the help of YouTube and some good painter’s tape, you can have your door looking very snazzy in just a few days.

If you’re needing to fill a large space on a tight budget and don’t want to get your hands too dirty, this is the hack for you. Staci and Kylie of KS Design Company made the art piece hanging above the desk out of a shower curtain they found on Society 6. They built a simple wood frame and used a staple gun to wrap the shower curtain like a canvas. It looks great, fills a very large space, and costs less than $100.

I don’t know about you, but collecting small-scale art and wall hangings and saying “I’ll figure out where to hang this later” is one of my favorite hobbies. If you measure the space on the wall you want to fill and then mark a section of your floor the exact same size using tape, you can plan out your gallery wall down to the millimeter without making a single unnecessary hole in your wall.

Bathrooms are always an easy place to do something fun and creative. Using a stencil to add a design to plain tile is vastly easier and less expensive than ripping out and replacing it, and depending on the size of your bathroom and your stencil, can be finished very quickly.
