When Carrie of @honeydohoney_home asked her 3 and 4 year old sons what they wanted in their new bedroom, they told her they would like space, dinosaurs, robots, and dump trucks. She more than delivered, hand-painting this absolutely incredible floor-to-ceiling mural masterminded by the boys.

The boys were consulted on each part of the mural, and she painted every single element they requested.

This DIY project not only looks awesome, but was also an incredibly sweet collaboration for Carrie and her sons. By letting her sons take charge of their space and bringing their ideas to life, Carrie created a completely unique, very special room that her sons adore.

Their first step was to cover the walls in the main paint color, which would serve as the backdrop for the mural.

Once that was done, it was off to the races with the mural.

She even got her boys in on the painting fun by cutting out two plywood rocket ships for them to decorate.

Carrie should be incredibly proud of both her awesome project idea and her wonderful artwork. We know her sons are thrilled with the final product!

In one post about this project and her sons, Carrie wrote, “I want them to know that their ideas are awesome, their input matters, and to never stop having big ideas.”
